3 Guards Stabbed at Industrial Correctional Center in Holmesburg

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- Three Philadelphia prison guards are recovering after officials say they were stabbed while trying to break up a fight between two inmates.
It happened this afternoon at the Philadelphia Industrial Correctional Center on State Road in Holmesburg.
A spokeswoman says a supervising sergeant and a two correctional officers were stabbed. They were taken to the hospital; the extent of their injuries is unclear but officials say the victims were "conscious and responsive."
The suspect was pepper sprayed. That person also was taken to the hospital.
The jail has been placed on lockdown.
PICC is the same facility where several inmates were hurt in a fight and stabbing a week ago.
