3 Gloucester Township Schools Placed On Lock-out Due To Nearby Armed Robbery

GLOUCESTER TOWNSHIP, NJ (CBS) – Police were forced to put three schools on lock-out as a result of an armed robbery at a nearby drugstore.

Around 9:40 a.m. on June 15th, police received two 911 calls from the Rite Aid at 1492 Chews Landing Road in Laurel Springs.

When officers arrived on scene, they placed nearby Glen Landing Middle School, Loring Flemming Elementary School and Mother Goose Learning Center on lock-out.

The suspect reportedly held up a pharmacist at the Rite Aid with a handgun then fled with an undetermined amount of prescription medication.

After a search of nearby developments and the woods yielded nothing, police released the schools from lock-out around 11 a.m.

The suspect is described as a thin white male with razor stubble who was wearing a gray shirt and a baseball style hat.

Anyone with information should call police.
