3 Dead In Motel Room In Double Homicide-Suicide

YORK, Pa. (AP) — Authorities say three people have been found dead in a central Pennsylvania motel room in an apparent double homicide-suicide.

Police in York County were called to the Quality Inn in Springettsbury Township shortly after 9 a.m. Sunday.

Police chief Dan Stump said arriving officers found two men and one woman dead of gunshot wounds.

He said the preliminary investigation indicates that the shooting was a double homicide-suicide, and "We have confirmed that the shooter is in the room."

Stump said the relationship between the three individuals is not yet known.

Quality Inn worker Darryl Schock told the York Daily Record that someone checked into the room shortly after 3 a.m. Sunday, and the person next door reported hearing a total of eight gunshots at about 9 a.m. and then "silence."
