26 Pounds Of Marijuana Found During Delaware Traffic Stop

MIDDLETOWN, Del. (AP) — Delaware state police say troopers seized 26 pounds of marijuana during a traffic stop in Middletown.

Police say the drugs were discovered Friday afternoon after troopers pulled over Marquis L. Maddox, of Philadelphia, for speeding on Korean War Veterans Memorial Highway.

Authorities say the marijuana was found in a large box in a trunk of the car as the vehicle was set to be towed. Police say they'd requested a tow truck after determining Maddox was driving on a suspended license.

Maddox was charged with drug possession, speeding and other offenses and was being held on cash bond. No phone number could immediately be found for him.

Another Philadelphia man, 30-year-old Torrance R. Lomax, was also arrested on drug possession charges. No telephone listing could be located for him either.
