21-Year-Old Man Dies After Crashing Into Utility Pole In Center City, Police Say

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- A 21-year-old man has died after police say he struck a utility pole in Center City. The accident occurred at 9th and Sansom Streets around 3:30 a.m. Sunday.

According to police, the 21-year-old man was driving a 2007 Chevrolet at a high rate of speed when he hit a curb and struck a utility pole.

He was rushed to Thomas Jefferson University Hospital where he was pronounced dead a short time later.

An investigation is ongoing.
