2-Year-Old Girl Allegedly Abducted By Mother's Ex-Boyfriend Returned Safely
PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- Philadelphia police say a 2-year-old girl who was abducted by the ex-boyfriend of the child's mother has been safely returned home. The girl's return happened in a strange way as two men who live nearby in East Mount Airy walked down the street, with one of them carrying the toddler in his arms, saying she has been returned.

The alleged abduction happened around 2:15 a.m. on the 6600 block of Ross Street after a fight broke out between the girl's mother and the 21-year-old ex-boyfriend.

Investigators say the man broke a window at the home before making off with the child in her mother's car. The mother told police the man is not the child's father.
Officers kept in contact with the man through his ex-girlfriend's phone, which he also took.
The men who brought the baby home said they rescued the child from a woman, not a man, at Germantown and Cheltenham Avenues.
"He's a weirdo, I know that. Good fellas don't do what he did," the man said about the alleged abductor. "When I see you, I'm going to hurt you, point-blank, period, for the baby."
The young girl is being taken to a nearby hospital to get checked out, but she appears unharmed.
Police are not sure where the ex-boyfriend is who allegedly abducted her.
