2 University Of Delaware Students Injured Following Explosion Inside Research Lab

NEWARK, Del. (CBS) -- Two University of Delaware students were injured after an explosion inside a research lab on Wednesday afternoon.

The university says two grad students suffered minor injuries following a small contained explosion in a campus lab around 1 p.m.

The two students were taken to Christiana Hospital out of an abundance of caution. Their injuries are not considered serious.

Brown Laboratory reopened around 3:30 p.m. while Drake Hall will remain closed until further notice.

Students who left personal belongings in Drake Hall during the evacuation should contact University of Delaware Police at 302-831-2222.
