2 Dead, Firefighter Hurt In NE Philadelphia Fire

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- Two people were killed and a firefighter was injured during a late night house fire in Philadelphia's Bustleton section last night.

Fire officials say crews were called to the home on Ferndale Street just before midnight, and arrived to find heavy flames and an aggressive fire burning inside the residence.

Deputy Fire Commissioner Jessie Wilson tells CBS 3 Eyewitness News that once inside, firefighters found a man and woman unresponsive.

Wilson says a firefighter was also taken to an area hospital with minor injuries.

The fire was brought under control within 35-minutes, but investigators are still looking into what sparked the blaze.
