2 Camden Men Charged In Slaying Of Man Found Dead In Car

CAMDEN, N.J. (AP) — Two Camden residents have been charged with felony murder in connection with the slaying of a city man who was found shot to death in car that had crashed into a fence.

Camden County prosecutors say 24-year-old Wilbert Shiveley and an 18-year-old man killed 19-year-old William Custis IV during a robbery. The second suspect, who was 17 when the slaying occurred in August 2013, was charged as a juvenile but prosecutors said they will seek to have him tried as an adult.

Custis was found in the driver's seat of the car. Prosecutors say the two suspects were passengers in the vehicle when it crashed.

Bail was set at $1.5 million cash for Shiveley, who is currently being held in state prison on a separate offense.
