11 Horses Killed In Barn Fire In Hockessin, Del.

HOCKESSIN, Del., (CBS) -- The Delaware State Fire Marshal's office says 11 horses were killed in a barn fire in Hockessin, Delaware Sunday night.

The fire was reported shortly after 8 p.m. in the 600 block of Gun Club Road.

According to the Delaware State Fire Marshal's office, the Hockessin Fire Company arrived on the scene with flames engulfing the barn. The Fire Marshal's office says 11 horses died in the fire. One horse managed to flee from the barn.

Deputy fire marshals are investigating the fire.  Fire officials say they are searching for the fire's origin and cause.

According to the Fire Marshal's office, damage to the structure was estimated at $60,000.
