1 Killed In Burlington County House Fire

EASTAMPTON TOWNSHIP, N.J. (CBS) -- One person was killed in a house fire in Burlington County, investigators confirmed.

The fire started at about 10:30 p.m. Monday at a home in the 1100 block of Smithville Road in Eastampton Township.

Firefighters were called to the scene and were able to place the fire under control in less than an hour.

The Burlington County Prosecutor's Office said an adult male was killed in the fire. The victim's identity was not immediately released.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
