1 Killed, 3 Injured In Crash Along Route 30 In Chester County

CALN TOWNSHIP, Pa. (CBS) — Authorities say one person was killed and three others were injured in a multi-vehicle crash in Chester County.

The crash happened around 9:30 p.m. Friday on the Route 30 bypass westbound in Caln Township.

One person was pronounced dead at the scene. Two others were rushed to Paoli Hospital with serious injuries, and a third victim was taken to Brandywine Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

Officials were withholding the identity of the deceased pending notification of family.

The westbound lanes were closed for several hours as crews cleaned up from accident.

State police are investigating the cause of the crash. It was not immediately clear whether drunken driving was a factor in the crash.
