1 Killed, 1 Critically Injured In South Jersey Crash
TOMS RIVER, N.J. (AP) — One man was killed and another was critically injured when their car struck a tree in southern New Jersey.
Toms River police say 19-year-old township resident Francis Duddy was pronounced dead at the scene of the crash, which occurred around 1:35 a.m. Saturday on Yellowbank Road in the Ocean County community.
The driver, 18-year-old Connor Hanifin of Toms River, was extricated from the car and flown to a hospital. But details on his injuries were not disclosed.
The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
Authorities say it appears the car went through a stop sign and over a curb at the end of a cul-de-sac before it entered a wooded area and hit the tree.
