UPPER DUBLIN, Pa. (CBS) – Firefighters in Upper Dublin Township, Montgomery County battled a blaze at an apartment complex early Friday morning.

The fire broke out around 2 a.m. on the second floor of a unit at the Woods Apartment Complex located on the 700 block of Lincoln Drive West.

Officials say at least one person had to be rescued from a balcony and is being treated for injuries.

The Red Cross is on the scene assisting some residents who were displaced.

Among those evacuated were Andrew Donnon and his teenage daughter, Alexis.

"It's a blessing that we're alive," says Andrew. "It's a blessing that the police responded fast enough to get us out cause, I mean, I didn't smell the smoke. If nobody got here, nobody called anybody, I would have burned to death."

"There's not a lot more to say then I'm just really thankful we got out," Alexis adds.

The 2-alarm fire was placed under control in about 30 minutes and officials say it was held to just the one unit of the complex, although other units suffered water or smoke damage.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
