1 In Custody In Connection With Road Rage Shooting Earlier This Week

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- Authorities say a person of interest has been taken into custody in connection with a road rage shooting that occurred earlier this week.

State police say around 6:30 a.m. Tuesday, a 38-year-old man was driving on I-95 North, just south of the Girard Point Bridge, when another driver began tailgating him aggressively.

Police identify the person of interest as 33-year-old Anthony Thomas Gilbert, of Upper Chichester.

"One round struck the rear passenger side area of the victim's vehicle and it actually punctured the tire," said Cpl. William Slaton. "The victim could have crashed and seriously injured himself."

The victim was able to pull off to the shoulder safely and call 9-1-1.

Police say charges are being prepared.
