1 Hurt, Several Displaced In West Philly Fire

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) - One person was injured and several others were left without a home following a fire in West Philadelphia Thursday morning.

The fire broke out just before 1:30 a.m. at the building located on North 52nd Street.

Officials say the blaze started at a first floor corner store, then spread to the second floor apartments above it.

One person was taken to the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania with minor injuries. No other injuries were reported

The fire was placed under control around 2:15 a.m. Officials are still investigating the cause.

The Red Cross is assisting those displaced by the fire.
