Woman Climbs Out Of Window To Escape Fire In West Philly

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) – Authorities say one person was taken to the hospital after flames broke out overnight in West Philadelphia.

It happened around 11:30 p.m. Monday night at the 900 block of North Saint Bernard Street.

Authorities say smoke was coming out of the second floor of the home. A husband and wife were the residents of the home.

The woman climbed onto to the 2nd floor roof of the home and in through a window of a home next door.

Authorities say she was then taken to Presbyterian Hospital and is in stable condition.

The fire was placed under control at 11:51 p.m. Monday night.
