1 Dead In Fiery Wreck On New Jersey Turnpike

GREENWICH TOWNSHIP, N.J. (AP) — State Police say a fiery crash involving a rental car and a truck has left one person dead on the New Jersey Turnpike in Gloucester County.

Trooper Jeff Flynn says troopers are still trying to piece together what happened in the northbound lanes around 5:25 a.m. Tuesday in East Greenwich Township.

Flynn says the car ended under the front of a tractor-trailer and the wreck was engulfed in flames.

Flynn says the car driver died and there are no reports that the truck driver was injured.

No names are available.

Traffic was able to use the shoulder of the highway.
