1 Dead In 2-Alarm Fire At Delaware County Rowhomes

CHESTER, Pa. (CBS) - One person is dead following a two-alarm fire that spread to two rowhomes in Chester, Delaware County late Thursday night.

The fire happened just before midnight on the 2800 block of West 10th Street.

A woman who was rescued from a second floor bedroom died at the scene. Her son was treated for minor injuries.

The Red Cross says they are assisting one person displaced by the fire, which was placed under control in just under an hour.

Red Cross officials will also be handing out fire safety materials in the neighborhood starting at 2 p.m. on Friday.

Crews are still investigating the cause.
