1 Dead, 2 Injured In Gloucester County Accident

WASHINGTON Twp., NJ (CBS) – Authorities say one person is dead and two people were taken to the hospital following an accident in Washington Township, Gloucester County.

The accident happened Monday afternoon on Fries Mill Road near Hurffville-Cross Keys Road.

The Gloucester County Prosecutor's Office says a southbound van was struck head-on when a pickup truck northbound on Fries Mill Road crossed into the opposite lane.

According to the Prosecutor's Office, a 36-year-old woman, a passenger in the van, was pronounced dead at the scene at about 1:14 p.m.

Authorities say the driver of the pickup truck and the driver of the van sustained non-life-threatening injuries and were taken to the hospital for treatment.

Fries Mill Road was closed and traffic detoured for about four hours following the crash, according to authorities.

The accident is being investigated by the Gloucester County Prosecutor's Office and the Washington Township Police Department.
