1 Arrested In Connection With Series Of Robberies Targeting The Elderly

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- Philadelphia Police have made an arrest in connection with a series of robberies targeting the elderly in the northeast and east sections of the city.

Authorities arrested 43-year-old Keith Perkins, of Philadelphia, on Monday.

Police say the suspects followed the victims from banks and then robbed them outside of their residences.

So far, more than ten victims have come forward to police.

Detectives say the strong-arm robberies started in April and continued into August.

Authorities say, in total, the victims have been robbed of a couple thousand dollars.

Perkins has been charged with robbery, theft, simple assault, criminal conspiracy and related offenses.

Police are still searching for Joseph Donaldson, and a third man, Ronald Singleton.
