SUV Pulled From Bronx River After Parkway Crash In Yonkers

YONKERS, N.Y. (CBSNewYork/AP) -- A vehicle ended up in the water, halting traffic on the Bronx River Parkway during the Monday morning rush hour.

The driver was standing on top of the SUV in the Bronx River when rescue crews arrived at the Yonkers crash site around 7:30 a.m. Monday, Westchester County police told The Journal News.

Images from the scene showed the water was up to the vehicle's door handles.

Northbound lanes of the Bronx River Parkway were closed for about 90 minutes.

A tow truck was used to remove the vehicle from the water.
