Andrew Miller Has Chip Fracture In Non-Pitching Wrist After Getting Hit By Line Drive
NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- New York Yankees reliever Andrew Miller has a chip fracture in his non-pitching wrist after getting hit by a line drive during a spring training game against the Atlanta Braves Wednesday afternoon.
The lefty reliever was hit on the right wrist by a line drive off the bat of Willians Astudillo in the bottom of the seventh inning.
Miller was visibly upset as he threw his hat into the dugout while he was walking off the field with Yankees trainer Gene Monohan.
The Yankees tweeted that a CT scan revealed the chip fracture in Miller's wrist.
"Andrew Miller had a CT scan, revealing a right wrist chip fracture. He'll see a hand specialist to determine the next course of action," the Yankees Public Relations Department said.

It is not known if Miller will be placed on the disabled list.
Miller was set to be the closer as Aroldis Chapman was serving his 30-game suspension over a domestic violence incident involving his girlfriend.
Miller recorded 36 saves and had a 2.04 ERA last season for the Yanks as he was selected the Mariano Rivera Award winner as the American League's best closer.
