Heyman: Yankees Will Listen To Offers For Closer Andrew Miller
NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- CBSSports.com/WFAN baseball insider Jon Heyman reports that Yankees general manager Brian Cashman is willing to listen to offers for closer Andrew Miller.
"We're open to all ideas, as always," Cashman told Heyman in regard to Miller. "It doesn't mean I'd do anything, but if the Dutch never asked the Indians for Manhattan you'd be living in New Jersey."
According to Heyman, the Yankees would want a significant package or an ace in exchange for Miller. Heyman suggested that Nationals right-hander Stephen Strasburg might make sense in a trade.

Heyman also reports that the Tigers, Diamondbacks, Red Sox, Astros and Blue Jays will be looking to acquire closers in the offseason. The Blue Jays and Astros were interested in signing the 30-year-old lefty last year.
The Yankees signed Miller to a four-year, $36 million deal in December of 2014.
He was brilliant in his first season with the Yankees, earning American League Reliever of the Year honors. He converted 36 of 38 save opportunities and pitched to a 2.04 ERA in 61 2/3 innings pitched. The 6-foot-7 veteran struck out 100 and walked 20.
If the Yankees were to trade Miller and they didn't acquire another closer, reliever Dellin Betances would likely move into the ninth-inning role.
Miller does not have a no-trade clause in his contract.
