Yankees Announce Plans For 1996 World Title Commemoration
NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- The Yankees on Wednesday announced the details of their 20th anniversary celebration of the 1996 world championship team.
The festivities begin Friday, Aug. 12, when the first 15,000 fans for the Yankees' game against the Tampa Bay Rays will receive a 1996 World Series replica trophy. The game starts at 7:05 p.m.
On Saturday, Aug. 13, there will be an on-field reunion of the 1996 team, which will include Derek Jeter, Mariano Rivera, Andy Pettitte, Jorge Posada, Bernie Williams, Tino Martinez, Paul O'Neill, David Cone, Wade Boggs, Doc Gooden, Darryl Strawberry and manager Joe Torre.
On Sunday, Aug. 14, the Yankees will hold a dedication ceremony for Rivera's plaque at Monument Park. The event will include many past Yankees and other special guests.

The Saturday and Sunday games both begin at 1:05 p.m., and fans are asked to be in their seats by noon for the pregame ceremonies, both of which will be televised live on the YES Network.
On Sunday, Aug. 28, the Yankees will hold 1996 World Series Champions Fan Ring Day, in which the first 18,000 fans ages 14 or younger will receive a replica World Series ring.
