Man Lying In Road Near Yankee Stadium Killed In Hit-And-Run

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- Police are searching for a driver in a hit-and-run that killed a 35-year-old man in the Bronx Tuesday night.

According to police, the victim was found unconscious in the street with trauma to the head and body on Jerome Avenue and Macombs Road near Yankee Stadium at around 10 p.m.

The victim was taken to Lincoln Hospital, where he was later pronounced dead.

Before the incident, the victim was apparently dropped off at the location by a livery car, and was believed to be intoxicated or disoriented at the time, 1010 WINS Glenn Schuck reported. He then fell into the street, where he was hit by the vehicle.

Police are hoping surveillance video obtained from a nearby Dollar Store will help with the ongoing investigation.
