Police: Man Seeking Revenge Against Ex's New Boyfriend Targets Wrong Home

SOUTH BRUNSWICK, N.J. (CBSNewYork/AP) -- A New Jersey man hoping to seek revenge against the man dating his ex-girlfriend accidentally targeted the wrong house and caused $10,000 in damage to vehicles in the driveway, authorities said.

NJ.com reported that 20-year-old Ajinka Kelkar believed a vehicle in the driveway of a South Brunswick home belonged to the person dating his ex-girlfriend. Police said the family that lives there soon discovered that several vehicles had been damaged.

Investigators said the vehicles' tires were slashed and one had obscenities scratched into its door and fender.

Kelkar was caught on surveillance footage walking around the property with a knife and damaging the vehicles. Police went to his South Brunswick home and arrested him hours later.

He's charged with trespassing and third-degree criminal mischief. It's unclear if he has an attorney.
