Would-Be Bank Robber Leaves Empty Handed After Teller Asks For ID
JACKSON TOWNSHIP, N.J. (CBSNewYork/AP) -- A man who tried to rob a bank in New Jersey walked away empty handed after the teller asked him for identification, police said.
The hoodie-wearing suspect walked into a Santander Bank branch in Jackson Township, N.J. Wednesday and gave the teller a note that demanded cash, 1010 WINS reported.
Jackson Township Police Lt. Steven Laskiewicz said the teller told the suspect to take off his hood and show some identification, the Asbury Park Press reported.
Laskiewicz said the man claimed he didn't have any ID and left the bank.
Santander Bank was robbed on Valentine's Day by a man who handed a teller a note saying he had a gun.
