PSE&G Contractor Rescued From Mud In Bergen County

NORTH ARLINGTON, N.J. (CBSNewYork) - A PSE&G contractor was rescued after getting stuck in waist-deep mud Monday morning, police said.

The contractor got stuck in the thick mud while surveying high-tension wires along Disposal Road at around 8:40 a.m., according to officials.

Rescue workers laid ladders and boards across the top of the mud to stand on and dug him out.

There's no word on his condition, but the contractor appeared to be conscious when he was pulled from the mud.

Rescuers told CBS2's Christine Sloan the contractor didn't need to be hospitalized.
