Woman Fatally Struck By City Bus In Midtown

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork/AP) -- A 69-year-old woman was fatally struck by a bus in Midtown Manhattan on Thursday, police said.

The accident happened around 9:40 a.m. on West 57th Street between Broadway and Eighth Avenue.

The woman, identified as Rochelle Wahrman, was struck by the MTA X5 bus as she tried to cross the street at mid-block, police said.

Wahrman was pronounced dead at NewYork-Presbyterian Weill Cornell Medical Center.

The driver has not been charged. The investigation is ongoing.
