Police: Driver Charged After Woman Struck And Killed By MTA Bus In Brooklyn

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- An MTA bus driver has been arrested after police said a woman was struck by a bus and killed in Brooklyn in last week.

Wayne Alman, 52, has been charged with failure to yield to a pedestrian, police said.

Just before 6 p.m. last Monday, police said 62-year-old Eleonora Shulkina was crossing East 17th Street when she was hit by an MTA B36 bus that was turning left onto East 17th Street from Avenue Z.

Sulkina was taken to the hospital where she was pronounced dead, police said.

Police said Alman remained on the scene.
