Ex-Boyfriend Arrested In Murder Of 22-Year-Old Mother Found Stabbed To Death In Bronx Park

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork/AP) -- A man has been arrested for the murder of a 22-year-old mother found stabbed to death in a park in the Bronx early Sunday morning, police say.

The victim, identified as Jasmine Gonzalez, was found just before 6 a.m. Sunday inside Bronx River Park.

Police say Gonzalez had been stabbed several times in the torso. She was pronounced dead at the scene -- only a couple blocks from her home.

Gonzalez's ex-boyfriend Khiry Borden, 25, of Saint Johns Place, Brooklyn, was arrested Sunday for murder, manslaughter and criminal possession of a weapon, police say.

Borden is also the father of Gonzalez's 2-year-old child, Baumgarten reported.

As 1010 WINS' Gary Baumgarten reported, neighbors were shaken by the woman's death.

"Oh no, that makes me scared," said one man, who says he frequents the park often.
