Woman Killed When Early-Morning Fire Rips Through Home On Long Island

TOWN OF ISLIP, N.Y. (CBSNewYork) – A 61-year-old woman died in an early-morning house fire on Long Island.

The fire broke out around 2:12 a.m. Friday on Washington Avenue in East Islip.

Suffolk County Police said Laurie Addeo was killed in the blaze.

Her husband, his mother and three tenants – a man, woman and their 10-year-old son – managed to escape the flames.

Police said the fire did not appear to be criminal in nature, but the arson squad will investigate.
