Woman, 80, Struck And Killed By Vehicle In Williamsburg

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- An 80-year-old woman was struck and killed by a vehicle Tuesday in Williamsburg, Brooklyn.

Around 1:35 p.m. Tuesday, police arrived at Grand Street and Graham Avenue in Brooklyn, and found the woman unconscious and unresponsive at the scene with head injuries.

The woman was taken to Bellevue Hospital, where she was pronounced dead.

Police later learned that the driver of a 1995 GMC vehicle was headed north on Graham Avenue and made a left turn onto Grand Street, when the driver struck the woman as she crossed Grand Street from the north side of the street to the south.

The woman was identified as Margarita Seda of Brooklyn.

The driver remained at the scene, and was ticketed for failing to yield to a pedestrian and failing to exercise due care.
