With Rangers Down 3-0, Ticket Prices For Game 4 At MSG Plummet

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- Game 3 of the Stanley Cup finals at Madison Square Garden set StubHub sales records.

Game 4? Now that's a different story.

Tickets for the Rangers-Kings contest on Wednesday night at MSG are expensive, but reasonable.

With the Blueshirts now down 3-0 in the series and on the brink of elimination, prices have plummeted. As of 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday, you could purchase tickets for Game 4 on StubHub for as low as $426.

If New York wins Game 4 on Wednesday and then beats the Kings in L.A., it's conceivable that prices for a potential Game 6 would be in the same range as those for Game 3.

"The Rangers have always sold well, but this surge is astounding," StubHub spokesman Cameron Papp told ESPN prior to Game 3, adding that the game also set an all-time mark for events at MSG, beating out a concert by One Direction and a pair of Knicks games. "It really shows the growth in popularity of the NHL over the last few years."

If the Rangers win the next two games, Game 6 will be played on Monday at 8 p.m. at Madison Square Garden.
