Window Washer Falls From 5th Floor Window In TriBeCa

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) - A window washer was taken to the hospital after falling from a fifth story window in TriBeCa Tuesday.

Police say the man was dangling out of the fifth floor window as he cleaned it from the inside just after 1 p.m. at the corner of Greenwich and Jay streets.

He not wearing a harness, police said.

WCBS 880's Alex Silverman spoke to Alex Marbett, who was walking by at the time of the fall.

"I was coming down and something just fell down. When I looked, it was a man," he said. "He was knocked down, he couldn't move at all."

His condition is unknown at this time. EMS tells WCBS 880 he was conscious and breathing on the way to the hospital.
