Man Yelled 'Bomb!' On L Train In Williamsburg, Brooklyn, Police Say
NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- Police were searching Wednesday night for a man who allegedly yelled out "bomb" on an L Train near the busy Bedford Avenue subway station in Williamsburg, Brooklyn this past weekend.
Around 5:45 p.m. Saturday, the suspect was on an L Train headed back to Manhattan from Brooklyn when he yelled out, "Bomb!" and counted down from five, and then yelled out, "Boom!" police said.
A passenger took a picture of the suspect with her cellphone before she got off the train at the First Avenue station back in Manhattan, police said.
The suspect was described as a Hispanic male between 30 and 40 years old, standing 5 feet 10 inches tall and last seen wearing a white T-shirt and blue pants.
The incident happened just a few hours before a bomb went off on 23rd Street in Chelsea and left dozens of people injured. Ahmad Khan Rahami of Elizabeth, New Jersey has been arrested and hit with federal charges in that incident.
