Police: Man Ripped Off Woman's iPhone In Williamsburg

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- Police on Friday were searching for a suspect who ripped off an iPhone from a woman in broad daylight on the bustling north side of Williamsburg, Brooklyn this week.

Around 2:05 p.m. Thursday, the 32-year-old woman was walking near 93 North 9th St., between Wythe Avenue and Berry Street, when the suspect came up and tried to take her iPhone 5, police said.

The victim struggled with the suspect, but he overpowered her and took the phone, police said.

The suspect then ran off. There were no injuries, police said.

Police have released a surveillance image of the suspect.
