NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- On the heels of reports that general manager Sandy Alderson will be given an extension and manager Terry Collins will return as manager next season -- and with an aid from the team's official account -- #ImAMetsFanBecause trended on Twitter on Monday afternoon.
With the Mets in danger of a sixth consecutive losing season, there was predictably plenty of frustration and sarcasm in 140 characters or less. Some tweets, however, were sincere and stressed a love for the team and franchise.
