Whole Foods Recalls Almost 74,000 Pounds Of Mislabeled Pizza

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- Whole Foods has issued a recall of around 74,000 pounds of frozen pizza for improper labeling.

The Massachusettes-based company said packages of their frozen pepperoni pizza product contain uncured pork pepperoni, which is not mentioned on the label and could pose as a hazard for those with a sensitivity to pork products.

The recall includes 8-inch and 12-inch vaccum-sealed Whole Foods Markets pepperoni pizzas sold in New York, New Jersey, Connecticut, Maine, New Hampshire and Rhode Island.

The fresh pizzas were produced Jan. 5th through Jan 22.

Whole Foods said there have been no adverse reactions reported, but are urging consumers to either throw the pizzas away or return them.
