Boys Accused Of Joyriding In Vehicles At LI Dealership, Crashing Into Cars

WESTBURY, N.Y. (CBSNewYork) -- Three boys – none of them old enough to hold a driver's license – stood charged Monday with getting into vehicles at a Long Island Jeep dealership and crashing them into cars in January.

Around 8:30 a.m. Monday, Jan. 4, the staff at Westbury Jeep, at 111 Bond St. in Westbury, Long Island, reported that someone had gotten into the gated lot, entered unlocked vehicles with keys, and driven off in them, police said.

The suspects hit parked cars and caused damage in excess of $120,000, police said.

The boys – two of them 14 and one of them 15 – were all charged as juveniles with second-degree criminal mischief, police said.
