NYPD: Group made anti-LGBTQ statements while attacking 72-year-old man in Chelsea

NYPD searching for 4 people in anti-LGBTQ attack in Chelsea

NEW YORK -- A 72-year-old man was brutally beaten last moth in what police are calling a hate crime assault.

The NYPD released images of four suspects in the Sept. 15 attack on Sunday.

Police said the victim was walking in Chelsea near 17th Street and Ninth Avenue, when the men made anti-LGBTQ statements.

Investigators said the suspects then punched and kicked the victim throughout his head and body.

The victim suffered a broken jaw.

Police are hoping someone recognizes the suspects.
