Man Yells Anti-Gay Remarks, Pushes Victim To Ground In West Village, Police Say

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- Police say a man was attacked in the West Village in what appears to be a hate crime.

It happened around 5:30 p.m. Sunday in front of 170 West 4th St.

The suspect yelled anti-gay remarks and then pushed the 32-year-old victim from behind, causing him to fall and hit his head on the window frame of a building, police said.

The victim was taken to Mount Sinai Beth Israel, where he was treated and released for a cut to his head.

The NYPD's Hate Crimes Task Force is investigating.
