82 Cats, 5 Dogs Found In 1 Room Of West New York, N.J. Apartment

WEST NEW YORK, N.J. (CBSNewYork) -- West New York, New Jersey police found 82 cats and five dogs in one room of an apartment Friday.

Around 1 p.m., West New York police got a complaint of an animal hoarding incident an apartment at 562 52nd St. in West New York, Mayor Felix Roque confirmed to CBS2.

The animals were all found in a 9-foot-by-9-foot apartment room, officials said.

The animals were all severely ill and dehydrated, officials said.

Two people were arrested, and police were looking for a third late Friday.

The city is currently looking for shelters for all the animals.
