West Haven Father Accidentally Delivers Baby Into Toilet

WEST HAVEN, Conn. (CBSNewYork/AP) -- This baby came into the world with quite a splash.

Musician David Davis, of West Haven, said he was forced to deliver his baby in the bathroom of his home last Friday morning after his wife, Lillie, went into labor.

Davis said the baby slipped through his hands during the delivery, but luckily went into the water -- the toilet water.

The baby began crying and it was the best sound he'd ever heard, Davis said.

The couple had gone to Griffin Hospital in Derby earlier in that morning, but had been sent home after it was determined his wife was not ready to give birth.

She began feeling strong labor pains a few hours later.

Livia weighed in at 7 pounds, 6 ounces -- soaking wet.
