Weekend Riders Prepare For Shutdown On Exchange Place-World Trade Center PATH Line

JERSEY CITY, N.J. (AP) -- Weekend riders on PATH trains will have another way to get to their destinations in New Jersey.

The Port Authority of New York and New Jersey says it has reached an agreement with New Jersey Transit to allow PATH riders to use their tickets on the Hudson-Bergen Light Rail Line.

The Port Authority announced that weekend service between Exchange Place and the World Trade Center will be suspended into early 2015 to install federally-mandated automatic braking technology.

The closures start next weekend.

The Hudson-Bergen Light Rail line runs along the river and connects Exchange Place to Hoboken's terminal. Hoboken trains into Manhattan will continue to operate on weekends.
