Woman Finds Wedding Ring Inside Jeans She Ordered For Her Husband
NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- A Staten Island woman got something extra in the mail with a gift she ordered for her husband.
As CBS2's Meg Baker reported, "ringing" in the New Year had a different meaning for Jean Vlahopouliotis and her family. A pair of jeans that she ordered for her husband as a Christmas gift just so happened to have someone's wedding ring in one of the pockets.
"He reached into the left front pocket and pulled out this man's wedding band," Vlahopouliotis said.
Vlahopouliotis ordered the 7 for All Mankind jeans from Neiman Marcus. Now, she and her husband are in search of the owner of the sterling silver or white gold large men's ring.
"I thought he was joking," Vlahopouliotis said. "I actually thought it was has; that he had found it randomly in the house somewhere and that he was just was teasing me."
Vlahopouliotis knows how it feels to lose something so meaningful.
"I had lost my engagement ring in my house. It rolled underneath my stove and it's been gone ever since. And my husband lost his wedding band as well, and we haven't found either band," she said. "So I know how important it is to get back to the owner."
The pants were shipped from Neiman Marcus in Tyson's Corner, Virginia, and the store said the pants were never returned or shipped anywhere else. So how exactly did the ring get in the pocket?
"Maybe when they reached into the pocket – the pockets are a little tight," Vlahopouliotis said. "Maybe when he pulled his hand out, the ring got left behind."
Vlahopouliotis posted a picture of the ring online, in hopes that social media will do what it does best and spread the word.

"I posted it on a lot of the local news station in Virginia, which is where the jeans were shipped from – the Neiman Marcus store out there – so I contacted them by Facebook and some emails and I am getting some feedback, but unfortunately, we haven't found the owners yet."
Vlahopouliotis said if she does find the owner, she is taking her husband to Atlantic City and he is wearing the lucky jeans.
The ring has a wedding date inscribed on the inside. Vlahopouliotis hopes the right person comes forward to name the date and get the ring back on their finger.
