Downed Trees, Power Problems Snarl Metro-North, LIRR Service During Morning Commute
NEW YORK(CBSNewYork) -- Rain and wind are causing problems for the morning commute Monday on Metro-North and Long Island Rail Road lines.
Service on Metro-North's Danbury Branch is suspended due to a mudslide and signal power problems.

The MTA says customers should seek alternate means of travel and tickets are being cross-honored on the Harlem Line.
The New Canaan Branch is also temporarily suspended due to a tree hitting overhead wires.

On Long Island, the LIRR's Ronkonkoma Branch was suspended for hours in both directions between Farmingdale and Ronkonkoma due to power lines on the tracks near Pinelawn. Service was restored shortly after 7:30 a.m.
Service restored between Farmingdale and Ronkonkoma following an earlier suspension. Customers can anticipate residual delays.

LIRR service was also suspended for a time between Speonk and Montauk in both directions due to power lines and trees downed by high winds. Service has since been restored.
