Water Main Break Floods Bronx Subway Station; Part Of 6 Line Suspended

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- A water main break has flooded a subway station in the Bronx, suspending part of the 6 line.

Water could be seen rushing inside the station at East 143rd Street and Saint Mary's in Mott Haven early Saturday morning.

As a result, the 6 subway line is suspended between Third Avenue-138th Street and Hunts Point Avenue, CBS2 reported.

The MTA said riders can take the 4 or 5 lines for service to the Bronx.

Some 4 and 5 line trains are running local in both directions between Brooklyn Bridge-City Hall and 125th Street.

Shuttle bus service is also being provided between Third Avenue-138th Street and Hunts Point Avenue.
