WATCH: Tom Hanks Reunites With 'Wilson' At Rangers Game

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- There's nothing quite like an unexpected reunion, is there?

On Wednesday night at Madison Square Garden, Academy Award-winning actor Tom Hanks was on hand to watch the Rangers take on the Bruins.

At one point during the Rangers' 3-2 win, Hanks was shown on the Jumbotron at MSG. The crowd, naturally, went nuts for him. And then, out of nowhere, somebody threw him a volleyball.

The ball was unmistakably painted like "Wilson," who kept Hanks' character company in "Cast Away."

Hanks was clearly surprised when he got the ball. Unless, of course, he was just acting surprised. He's good, but he can't be that good.

The "Forrest Gump" star then proceeded to belt out a "Let's Go Rangers" chant.

You just never know what you'll see at the Garden.
